This ration, called the MCWR, will be used for training exercises and deployed operations taking place in mountainous or cold environments when conditions do not allow the use of individual combat rations or fresh food. The MCWR consists of various food and non-food items packaged in an overwrap bag. Each MCWR meets the nutritional requirement for a 24-hour period/person. They are requesting detailed information on packaged individual portions of freeze dried meals that will be included as a component of the new MCWR.
