    Nature of Requirements: 
    This amendment changes the closing date from July 22, 2013 to 
    September 9, 2013.
    
    Requirement: The Department of National Defence (DND) has a
    requirement for lightweight thermal headwear.
    
    The balaclavas, neck gaiters and toques have to be manufactured
    in accordance with the following Department of National Defence
    documents : Manufacturing Data for balaclava, lightweight
    thermal, air force DSSPM 2-13-87-4030, dated 20 February 2013,
    Manufacturing Data for neck gaiter , lightweight thermal, air
    force DSSPM 2-13-87-3260, dated 20 February 2013, Manufacturing
    Data for toque, lightweight thermal, air force DSSPM
    2-13-87-3668, dated 20 February 2013. 
    
    The bidder must contact the Contracting Authority to obtain the
    technical data not included with the bid solicitation documents.
    It is imperative that this request for the bid documentation be
    done as soon as possible to ensure timely receipt of the
    associated technical data. However, the Crown shall not be held
    responsible for untimely release of technical data, since the
    technical data package as well as the sealed samples shall be
    available for viewing at the following Public Works and
    Government Services Canada regional offices: Quebec, Quebec,
    Montréal, Quebec, Mississauga, Ontario and Winnipeg, Manitoba.
    
    Firm quantity:
    This requirement is for a firm quantity of 25,000 balaclavas,
    25,000 neck gaiters and 25,000 toques to be delivered to
    Montreal, Qc. and Edmonton, Alb. Mandatory delivery of the firm
    quantity is requested complete no later than June 30, 2014. A
    contract financial security of 2p 100 of the contract price will
    be requested before contract award.
    
    Option:- Quantities estimated :
    This requirement also includes three (3) options to purchase
    additional estimated quantities. Each option quantity can be for
    a minimum of 5,000 to a maximum of 25,000 for each type. Three
    contract amendments can be done. These options may be exercised
    during a period of 36 months from the first delivery.
    
    Canadian Content: This requirement is subject to the Canadian
    Content Policy and is solely limited to Canadian goods.

    To ensure a response before bid closing date, all enquiries
    about this requirement must be submitted in writing and received
    by the Contracting Authority at least seven (7) calendar days
    prior to the bid closing date.
