    Nature of Requirements: 
    Requirement: The Department of National Defense (DND) has a
    requirement for Helmets CG634 GENII -Interim. 
    
    They are to be manufactured in accordance with the Department of
    National Defence Technical Standards:
    Annex B-1- Statement of Work helmet, CG634 generation II interim
    Annex B-2- Statement of Work helmet, CG634 generation II
    interim, design and prototyping
    Annex C- Technical purchase description, helmet, CG634
    generation II interim
    Annex E- Data Item Descriptions, CG634 generation II interim
    Enclosure 1 to Annex E - Engineering drawings and associated
    lists for CG634 helmet GEN II interim 
    Annex F- technical evaluation requirements - guidance to bidders 
    Annex G - Product specification, CG634, combat helmet
    
    This procurement is divided in three phases.
    
    Phase 1 -The written proposal will be evaluated in accordance
    with Annex C.
    Phase 2- Compliant bidders from Phase I will be asked to supply
    thirty (30) samples (medium size only) with test data. (Annex F,
    table F1). These helmets will be inspected , measured, weighted
    and tested  by DND  for the requirement specified at Annex F,
    table F2. 
    Phase 3 - Financial evaluation .
    
    Contract Estimated Quantity: 
    This requirement is for an estimated quantity of :
    8,000 helmets, 4,000 headbands, 2, suspension subsystem ,4,000
    retention chin strap standard, 400 screw and nuts, 800 retention
    chin strap.
    
    "As and when requested" spare parts:
    Spare parts might be ordered on an "as and when requested" basis
    during a period of 84 months from the contract award date.
    
    Option:
    The main contract will also include series of annual options
    that may or may not be exercised to purchase additional
    quantities of  helmets. 
    The minimum order quantity of any one option year will be 1,000
    helmets. The option quantity can be for a minimum of 3,000 to a
    maximum of 15,000 pairs for each amendment. Multiple contract
    amendments can be done. The total option quantity of all
    amendments will not exceed 60,000 helmets. These options may be
    exercised during a period of 84 months from the date of contract
    award.

    To ensure a response before bid closing date, all enquiries
    about this requirement must be submitted in writing and received
    by the Contracting Authority at least fifteen (15) calendar days
    prior to the bid closing date.
