REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

INTRODUCTION 
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) on behalf of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is seeking feedback from industry on Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor Standard-NIJ 0101.06, certified level IV, Stand-Alone Hard Body Armour that is less than 7.5 lbs per plate and available as a commercial-off-the-shelf product. 

MAIN OBJECTIVES 
1. Provide information to the RCMP on the trends in the Ballistic Resistance of Hard Body Armor and how to proceed with future requirements and procurement strategy. 
2. Define the cost estimate, timelines, properties and other aspects of the requirement. 
3. Become a more "informed buyer" with an enhanced understanding of industry goods. 

RESPONSE INSTRUCTIONS 
The following sections lay out a standardized response structure for this RFI. Respondents should include these sections, and their detailed responses per section, in each response to this RFI. If more than one model/product is being offered, a separate package must be submitted. 

1. Responder Details (Company name, headquarters’ address, website, primary point of contact name, title, email address, phone number and office location) 
2. Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) product documents must include material data sheets; product data sheets, that at a minimum, must include weight, thickness, shape, cut of plate, all COTS sizes available including the ability to make custom sizes, special features, and NIJ certifications to meet the objective. In addition to the NIJ Level IV, specify if this model provides any additional protection.
3. Company and model number, price per plate and availability of the recommended product. 
4. Warranty coverage with a detailed description and extended warranty, if applicable.
5. Care and maintenance, and verification of the ballistic integrity throughout the life of the HBA.
6. Any additional information believed to be relevant to the response that has not already been covered in the sections above. 

Respondents are asked to identify if their response, or any part of their response, is subject to the Controlled Goods Regulations.
