    Nature of Requirements: 
    
    The research facilities at CanmetMINING of NRcan has a requirement for a Confocal Raman Microscope. The Microscope will be used to identify structural and molecular groups in liquids and solids at a spatial resolution down to the micrometer-scale with mapping and heating/cooling capabilities
    
    The Confocal Raman Microscope must include all of the following: 
    
    1. Integrated microscope
    
    a) Two eyepieces (binocular) and video for sample viewing;
    b) a set of 5x, 20x, 100x objectives;
    c) a 50x objective with a long working distance greater than 6 mm; and
    d) Class 3B microscope enclosure with laser safety interlocks
    
    2. Peltier-cooled high-sensitivity CCD array detector with 1024 pixel width;
    
    3. Spectrometer with gratings to cover the wavelengths of the 3 required laser assemblies (see item 4);
    
    4. Three laser excitation assemblies at 532 nm, 633 nm and 785 nm;
    
    5. An optical table to mount the main system and the 3 laser assemblies;
     
    6. Specimen stages;
    a) one manual xy stage
    b) one motorized xyz stage
    c) a computer-controlled heating/cooling stage
    
    7. Automation and Data Acquisition System;
    
    8. Delivery;
    The Confocal Raman Microscope must be delivered by March 31st, 2022 to 555 Booth Street, Ottawa, ON, Canada, K1A 0E9.
    
    9. Installation, software licenses, and basic training: 
    
    a) installation of the confocal Raman microscope that must be completed two months after the delivery date.
    b) all-inclusive, on-site, basic training in English on operation of the confocal Raman microscope system for 4 persons at the time of installation.
    c) unlimited site software licenses for off-line data analysis on Windows-based computers
    10. Warranty 
    
    In addition to the obligations set out in the Warranty section of 4001, the contractor will cover within the warranty period (initiated when the Raman system is fully operational according to specifications):
    a) service travel
    b) labour
    c) parts
    d) maintenance.
    e) software updates
    f) all service done by specialists as recognized by the Raman system manufacturer
    
    
    11. Electrical Safety Authority Compliance 
    
    After the install of the confocal Raman microscope system, the contractor must provide ESA electrical certification that will include arrangement for ESA inspection and all required modifications for compliance.

    The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
