    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS
    
    Government of Canada is moving its Government Electronic
    Tendering Service from MERX to Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders on June
    1, 2013.
    
    Starting June 1, 2013, federal government tenders (tender
    notices and bid solicitation documents) will be published and
    available free of charge on a Government of Canada Web site on
    Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.
    
    The Government Electronic Tendering Service on
    Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders will be the sole authoritative source
    for Government of Canada tenders that are subject to trade
    agreements or subject to departmental policies that require
    public advertising of tenders.

    After June 1, 2013, all tenders and related documents and
    amendments will be on Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.

    to check for amendments to any tender opportunities that they
    have been following on MERX prior to June 1.

    Public Works and Government Services has a requirement for the
    demolition, removal and replacement of cell doors, furniture,
    floor tiles, mechanical and electrical components, and painting
    in the Shepody Healing Centre area of Building B-4 at the
    Dorchester Penitentiary, Dorchester, New Brunswick. All work is
    to be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications
    for PWGSC Project Number R.043937.001 forming part of the bid
    document. The contract completion is twenty-four (24) weeks
    after contract award.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
    It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
    Bidder visit the work site and examine the Scope of the Work
    required and the existing conditions. There will be an optional
    site visit on June 4, 2013 at 9:30 am.  All interested bidders
    are to meet at the principal entrance at the Dorchester
    Penitentiary, Dorchester, New Brunswick. Although not mandatory,
    all contractors  wishing to submit a tender for this work are
    encouraged to attend to become familiar with all aspects of the
    work. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation
    resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment
    to the bid solicitation.
    Please note that there is a security clearance required for this
    site visit. ALL interested bidders, regardless of current
    clearance level, must submit the Institution Access CPIC
    Clearance request form attached as Appendix 2 of the Invitation
    to Tender document by 5:00 pm May 17, 2013. Any interested
    bidders currently working at this site who have already been
    cleared and are interested in attending MUST provide their names
    by this date.  No cameras, cellphones or tobacco products are
    permitted on the site.                                          
                                 
    IMPORTANT NOTICE: New measures related to Code of Conduct and
    certifications included in the solicitation documents requires
    attention.

    Room 421, 189 Prince William Street, Saint John, N.B.
    The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following
    category: $500,001 -         $1,000,000 (HST included).

    Standard bid and contract security for construction is required.
    
    Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
    downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
    paper version. Bidders should note that Attachment 1 (ATT 1)
    contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which
    consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized
    directory structure.
    
    Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
    tender documents through the MERX services provider.  Addenda,
    when issued, will be available from the MERX provider.  Firms
    that elect to base their bids on tender documents obtained from
    other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely
    responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their
    intention to bid.

    incorporated by reference, and form part of the tender and
    contract documents.  The standard documents are issued by Public
    Works and Government Services and may be viewed on the MERX
    electronic bulletin board as part of the information module.
