    The Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for the provision of all necessary labour and material to carry out a five (5) year maintenance contract at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography on the following:
    Equipment Inventory:  
    • Units # 6 & 7, two electric traction elevators located at the CCG Building, #’s 167762 & 1677324
    • Units # 1, 2 and 4,three electric traction elevators located adjacent to the Polaris building., #’s,765, 764, & 1687
    • Unit # 9, one dumbwaiter device located in the library of the Van Steenburg building., # 1829
    • Unit # 3, one electric traction elevator located in the Strickland building, # 1686
    • Unit # 8, one dumbwaiter unit located I the Fish Laboratory building., # 3046.
    
    All work is to be performed in accordance with the specification for EB 281-191864 forming part of the bid document
    
    Bidders are to communicate with the Contracting Authority prior to the visit to confirm attendance.  Bidders that do not attend are not precluded from submitting a bid.  Bidders are to provide the Contracting Authority with the names of their representative no later than 2 days prior to the scheduled site visit.
    
    The work shall be performed by qualified Elevating Device Mechanics certified by the Province of Nova Scotia Trade Regulations made under Section 17A of the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act. The elevating device mechanics shall be skilled in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various types of elevators with a minimum of five (5) years documented experience. Proof of licencing shall be submitted upon request by the Departmental representative.

    The estimate for this opportunity is within the following cost category:  $100,001 - $500,000.
    
    New measures related to Code of Conduct and certifications included in the solicitation documents requires attention.
