    Small Boat Basin Development, North Cove, Spaniard’s Bay, NL
    
    Public Works and Government Services has a requirement that consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material for small boat basin development at Spaniard’s Bay, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.
    
    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: 
    
    • Demolition of the existing wharf, slipway, and partial uplands area as noted on the drawings. Assume all timber associated with the existing wharf infrastructure and existing slipway is creosote. Assume all demolition debris is to be disposed of at Robin Hood Bay in St. John’s ,NL
    
    • Construction of a new breakwater complete with rock filled core, filter stone, armour stone, gravel walking surface, concrete floating dock support blocks, and area lighting. 
    
    • Construction of a new marginal wharf, complete with concrete deck, Type B1 cleats and structural timber for coping, wheel guard, wheel guard blocking, fenders, and ladders. Rock removal will be required at the seat of the cribs at the design elevation.
    
    • Demolition of the existing shed and the construction of a new shed/building, as noted on the drawings (including all associated electrical and plumbing work)
    
    • Construction of new retaining cribs, as noted on the drawings.
    
    • Construction of a concrete launch way. Rock removal will be required to seat the launch way at the design elevation.
    
    • Uplands re-shaping and placement of granulars, rip rap, and pavement as noted on the drawings.
    
    • Harbour dredging (involving drilling/blasting of bedrock), in the area noted on the drawings. 
    
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended the bidders visit the site and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed and the means of access to the site.  Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site should refer to Section 01 10 10, Item 1.5 
    
    Familiarization with Site of specifications before performing any site inspection or preliminary work on site.
