    Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has a requirement, on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans for Wharf Reconstruction at Trout River, Newfoundland and Labrador. The scope of work for this project consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for wharf reconstruction.
    
    In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
    
    1. Demolition and removal of 50.30m of existing timber crib marginal wharf including reinforced concrete deck, wheelguard, electrical pedestals, ladders, rock ballast and fenders.
    
    2. Removal and storage of existing jib crane, including winch motor and existing electrical components.
    
    3. Construction of a new 51.50m long sheet steel pile marginal wharf including reinforced concrete deck.
    
    4. Supply and installation of reinforced Type "A" and Type "B1" mooring cleats, fenders, ladders, wheelguards, wheelguard blocking and mooring rings.
    
    5. Install one (1) concrete jib crane base and re-install existing jib crane and associated components.
    
    6. Supply and install new 100mm diameter SDR28 drainage piping.
    
    7. Supply and installation of one (1) 10.60m wooden light pole c/w bollards and electrical.
    
    8. Supply and installation of two (2) new electrical pedestals, electrical equipment, conduits and wiring.
    
    9. Supply and install Type 1 and Type 2 aggregate material and asphalt pavement in upland area.
    
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. 
    
    MATERIAL SUPPLIED BY CANADA 
    
    The declared value of the material supplied by Canada for this project is $ 12,000.00 (HST extra).  This amount shall be added to the contract value when determining the amount of insurance required under the Builder's Risk / Installation Floater coverage.
      
    Bidders must refer to R2710T (2021-04-01) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
