Trade Agreement: Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Wharf Reconstruction - Winterton, NL F6140-210681/A Contact Name: Alexandria Dwyer Telephone: 709-330-6330 Fax: 709-772-4603 Email: Alexandria.Dwyer@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has a requirement, on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) for Wharf Reconstruction at Winterton, Newfoundland and Labrador. The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the wharf reconstruction. In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Demolition and removal of existing crib and span finger pier including but not limited to reinforced concrete deck. 2. Contractor may require temporary support under existing building foundations during removal of existing cribwork. 3. Supply and install new treated timber cribwork finger pier as indicated complete with reinforced concrete deck, timber wheelguard, and mooring cleats. 4. Cribs will need to be scribed to hard bottom. 5. Dredge harbor bottom in area as indicated to -2.0m. 6. Re-grade existing approach and place Rock Fill, Class "A", Class "B" and new asphalt. 7. Contractor shall extend existing slipway with new concrete filled anchor cribs. 8. Any and all armour stone in front of the community stage removed for placement of new cribs shall be stored and replaced after new cribs are in place. 9. Supply and installation of new wharf electrical upgrades. 10. Temporarily support or temporarily divert existing culvert to allow for construction of new wharf structure. FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 28 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. MATERIAL SUPPLIED BY CANADA The declared value of the material supplied by Canada for this project is $ 3,600.00 (HST extra). This amount shall be added to the contract value when determining the amount of insurance required under the Builder's Risk / Installation Floater coverage.
