    COMPREHENSIVE LAND CLAIMS AGREEMENT:
    
    This procurement is subject to the following Comprehensive Land Claims Agreement:
    - Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement
    
    Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has a requirement, on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) for a new boat storage building at Makkovik, Newfoundland and Labrador. The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the new boat storage building.
        
    In general, the work under this contract will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
    
    1. Demolition of the existing trailer.
    
    2. Construct and commission a new boat storage building.
    
    3. Install weeping tile and floor trench drain piping to outlet locations. 
    
    4. Coordinate with local utility for overhead power supply, routing and installation. 
    
    5. Connect services including water and power and make ready for use. 
    
    6. Install bollards to protect new building. 
    
    7. Install owner supplied trailer and reinstate any areas of site disturbed by work to original conditions. 
    
    Note that the Contractor must incorporate COVID-19 standardized protocols in their site specific Health and Safety Plan.  
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. 
    
    Obtain prior permission from the Departmental Representative before carrying out site visit. 
    
    
    MATERIAL SUPPLIED BY CANADA 
    
    The declared value of the material supplied by Canada for this project is $  20,000.00 (HST extra).  This amount shall be added to the contract value when determining the amount of insurance required under the Builder's Risk / Installation Floater coverage.
    
    Bidders must refer to R2710T (2021-04-01) GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
