    Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement
    for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) to supply all
    plant, labour, materials, and equipment for Electrical System
    Improvements at the existing DFO (SCH) facility at Valleyfield,
    NL as per the plans and specification.
    
    The scope of work consists of the furnishing of all plant,
    labour, equipment, and material for Electrical System
    Improvements to the existing DFO (SCH) facility at Valleyfield,
    in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying
    drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the
    Contract.
    
    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be
    limited to, the following:
    Supply and installation of new electrical service, shore power
    junction boxes, coverplates, receptacles, labels and power
    pedestals.
    Supply and installation of new electrical equipment and new
    electrical shed, complete with concrete slab on grade. New
    electrical shed required on the west end of the facility and
    existing shed to be re-used (with new equipment to be supplied
    by Contractor) on the
          east end the facility. Refer to electrical drawings E1 to
    E6, for all requirements.
    Supply and installation of all conduit, wiring and fittings for
    a complete electrical installation.
     Installation of owner supplied light fixtures on wooden poles
    and owner supplied jib crane.
    Coordination with utility company for the supply of new
    electrical service. Contractor
           responsible to pay for all contribution in aid of
    construction charges from the Utility. For               Bidding
    purposes, assume this cost is $12,000 excluding taxes.
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit
    the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form,
    nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the
    completion of the work, the means of access to the site,
    severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions,
    any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain
    all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other
    circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No
    allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on
    account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine
    the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review
    specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements
    before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for
    any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
    Obtain prior permission from the Departmental Representative
    before carrying out such site inspection.
    
    Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION
    SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2014-03-01) for the
    Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
