Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans - Small Craft Harbours (SCH) for the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the partial wharf reconstruction at Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador.

The project work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

• Demolition, removal and disposal of portion of various components of existing wharf
• Reconstruction of portion of existing timber cribwork with new
• Reconstruction of portion of existing reinforced concrete deck with new to match existing
• Remove existing concrete cleat blocks and replace with new concrete cleat blocks complete with type “A” cleats.
• Supply and install all new structural timber in area as indicated


Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2017-09-21) for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.


FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

Before submitting a bid, bidders can visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense, to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure, and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies, and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
