    Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for the supply and installation of a new cooling coil and a new rooftop condensing unit, as well as all related mechanical, electrical and architectural work as indicted and as may be required to provide a complete and functional system.  The work consists of the addition of mechanical cooling to an existing rooftop air handling unit located at the Atlantic Cool Climate Crop Research Centre facility of Agriculture and Agri-food Canada in St. John's, NL.
    
    Bidders must refer to R2710T GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONSTRUCTION SERVICES - BID SECURITY REQUIREMENTS (GI) (2017-09-21) for the Integrity Provisions applicable to this requirement.
    
    SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
    
    Bidders must refer to Section 01 35 29.06, Item 1.8 Project/Site Conditions of specifications before performing any site inspection or preliminary work on site.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
    
    It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for one tour of the work site. The site visit will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 10:00AM. Bidders should meet in the main lobby public entrance of the AAFC Atlantic Cool Climate Crop Research Centre, 308 Brookfield Rd., St. John’s, NL.
    
    Bidders are required to show identification and sign in to view premises. All visitors will be accompanied for duration of visit. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
    
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
