    Marginal Wharf Phase II - Bonavista, NL
    
    Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a requirement on behalf of Department of Fisheries and Oceans Small Craft Harbour that consists of the furnishing of all plant. Labour, equipment and material for marginal wharf reconstruction (Phase 2) at Bonavista, NL. Work to take place at Bonavista, NL.
    
    In general, work under this contract consists of, but not necessarily limited to:
    
    1. Demolition and removal of the existing wharf.  Contractor to note that creosote timber is present in the existing structure which will have to be disposed of at a provincially regulated waste disposal site.
    2. Construction of a new treated timber crib wharf, complete with reinforced concrete deck. 
    3. Excavation of the harbour bottom, prior to installation of new cribs, rock mattress and scour protection.
    4. Supply and installation of mooring cleats, structural timber for coping, wheelguard, wheelguard blocking, fenders, ladders and associated hardware for new wharf construction.
    5. Uplands rock and gravel fill placement, topped with granulars and pavement.
    6. Waterline and electrical work, including new electrical shed.
    7. Required provisions to maintain utilities (water and sewer) and access such that existing operations are not impacted.
    8. Other work as specified or detailed in the contract documents.
    
    Bidders must refer to General Instructions R2710T (2021-04-01) for the Integrity Provisions (Code of Conduct and Certification) applicable to this requirement.
    
    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE
    
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid or costs to do the work. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 29 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
