    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS RE. BID SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    
    Due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary measures are being taken on-site at the Ontario Region Bid Receiving Unit to encourage social distancing. The health and safety of staff and suppliers remains our top priority. 
    
    As an alternative to hard copy bids, suppliers may submit bids electronically using the Canada Post epost Connect application for the subject bid solicitation. This service allows suppliers to submit bids, offers and arrangements electronically to PWGSC Bid Receiving Units. This online service enables the electronic transfer of large files up to Protected B level. Please refer to SI06 Submission of Bid for additional details. Bidders should also note the requirements set out in SI05 Bid Security Requirements.

    PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK:  
    
    This requirement is for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Jetty 5 within the commercial fisherman’s basin at Erieau, Ontario, on the northeast shore of Lake Erie. This work involves the demolition and reconstruction of one concrete jetties, installing new jetty piling system, concrete and steel deck structure, improved electrical services and new pile fendering.
    
    CONSTRUCTION TIME
    
    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within 12 weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer. 
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT  
    
    There will be an optional site visit on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 1:00PM EST at 1560 Kerr Ave in Erieau, Ontario. See attached photo for location of meeting - end of Kerr St in Erieau, Ontario.
    
    Bidders must register with the Contracting Officer, Stanley Chui at Stanley.Chui@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca, to confirm attendance and provide the name of the person who will attend by 1:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2020. Only one bidder from each company permitted, to a maximum of 10 people including PSPC or other representatives.
    
    Safety Attire: In order to be guaranteed access to the site visit all persons should have the proper personal protection equipment (face covering/non-medical mask (as required in indoor spaces as per the directive by Chatham-Kent Public Health (https://ckphu.com/covid-19/)), safety boots, reflective vests and hard hats etc.). Contractor`s personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire may be denied access to the site.
    
    Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation. 
    
    NOTE: As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the following precautions are mandatory during the site visit:
    
    SITE VISIT PLAN:
    
    - Bidders to stay in their vehicles until the specified meeting time
    - At the specified meeting time, bidders will meet with the Departmental Representative at the gates to the facility for attendance and briefing
    - Departmental Representative will take attendance
    - Departmental Representative will lead bidders - allowing bidders to view the existing condition of the site
    
    COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:
    
    - Bidders are to preregister 48 hours prior to the site visit, if they are not preregister they will not be permitted to attend the site visit
    - Only one representative from each company permitted, to a maximum of 10 people including PSPC or other representatives
    - We request that you wear a Non-medical masks/face covering at all times while outside of your vehicle.
    - Maintain 2m social distancing at all time.
    - Observe proper hand hygiene while on site. Sanitize hands before entering the site and after exiting. Attendees should bring hand sanitizer.
    - Attendance will be taken by Bidders announcing their name and Departmental Representative recording (no list passed around).
    - Bidder self-screening and declaration that they are not ill is required at arrival
    - Avoid social greetings (e.g. shaking hands).
    
    Self-screening assessment questions:
    1. Do you have a cough, fever, sore throat, difficulty breathing, or any other new or worsening symptoms?
    2. Have you travelled outside of Canada in the past 14 days?
    3. Have you had close contact with a person with acute respiratory illness who has travelled anywhere outside of Canada within the last 14 days before their illness?
    4. Have you been in close contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
    
    Do not attend the site visit if you answered yes to any of the questions, and contact your health care provider for advice.
