Title: Asphalt Driveway and Parking Lot Rehabilitation

Work Description:
Work to be done under this Contract comprises of asphalt paving and parking lot rehabilitation in the Institute of Ocean Sciences (IOS), located at 9860 West Saanich Road, Sidney, BC.  Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following:
1.) Removal of existing asphalt, turf, and curbs
2.) Offsite disposal
3.) Grading & testing
4.) New asphalt
5.) Landscaping works
6.) Proof roll existing gravel and dig test holes
7.) Remove gravel & install gravel backfill
8.) Compact new sub base & top course gravel and proof roll
9.) Asphalt paving & installationof parking stops, curb, sod, boulevard restoration, and line painting.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.

Site Visit:
Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. A site visit is scheduled on Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 at 10:00am local time, at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, located at 9860 West Saanich Road, Sydney, BC, V8L 5T5. A maximum of two (2) representatives per bidder will be permitted to examine the sites. Contractors attending the scheduled site visit will have to check in with the Commissioner at the front desk at time of the site visit.

Contractors interested in attending the site visit should pre-register by close of business on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 with the DFO Project Authority by e-mail: Randy.Burgin@dfo-mpo.gc.ca   

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed on or before March 31st, 2016.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost around $600,000.00.

Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
