Work Description:
Work to be done under this Contract comprises of replacement of an existing fire alarm system for a 52-building site, and fibre-optic backbone network for the fire alarm system.  There is a limited amount of miscellaneous non-electrical items of work including:
1.) Sprinkler supervisory switches.
2.) Sprinkler valves.
3.) Sprinkler flow switches.
4.) Framing, Drywall and painting.
5.) Silt fence.
6.) Excavation for a ductbank and associated concrete work.
7.) Security caulking.

Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.

Site Visit:
Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.  

A site visit is scheduled on Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 at 11:00am local time, at William Head Institution, located at 6000 William Head Road, Metchosin, BC.  Contractors are to check in at the William Head Institution Principal Entrance.  A maximum of two (2) representatives per bidder will be permitted to examine the sites.  Contractors attending the site visit are required to show one (1) piece of government issued ID, such as a Drivers License.

All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, which meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site visit.  No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or laptop computers are allowed into institutions at any time.

Delivery Date:
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed within fifty-two (52) weeks from Contract Award.

Value of Project:
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project isestimated to cost around $950,000.00.

In all cases, bidders must indicate (when requested) in the space provided on the tender form the identification number(s)of the addenda, if any, that they have taken into consideration for their bid.
