BID SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary measures are being taken on-site at the Pacific Region Bid Receiving Unit to encourage social distancing. Note to Tenderers: Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachment File(s)contains the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory structure. Work Description: Work to be performed under this Contract generally comprises of the construction of the Seymour Narrows Radar Station, located approximately 8km north of Campbell River, BC and approximately 1km south of Browns Bay. The site coordinates are 50° 09’ 01.7" N - 125° 22’ 16.8" W. The site is accessible from Browns Bay Road through a woodlot which has gravel road access to the site. The station is steel frame construction on a concrete foundation, with metal roof and cladding system. The Contractor is to coordinate with the owner for installation of all owner supplied and installed items. The Contractor is responsible for supply and install of all building components. The contractor will be responsible for supply and erection of the structure. The contractor will also supply and install all doors, roofing, exterior wall assembly and cladding. All interior construction, electrical and mechanical components not listed as owner supplied are to be supplied and installed by the contractor. Interior finishes including but not limited to flooring, interior wall framing, finishes and painting, and fixtures are to be supplied and installed by the contractor. Refer to individual specification sections and drawings. Concrete footing pad, and concrete pad for fuel storage to be installed by the contractor. Through wall flashing for fuel lines to be provided by Contractor. Work to be done under this Contract also includes the construction of the Seymour Narrows Communication Tower. Tower work, including tower foundation and waveguide bridge, to be coordinated with construction and commissioning of building. In addition, Work to be done under this Contract also comprised of the construction of the CCG Seymour Narrows Power Line between Browns Bay and the building site. Power line work to be coordinated with construction and commissioning of building. Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work. Optional Site Visit: There is NO scheduled site visit. However, there will be an optional virtual bidders’ conference scheduled for Wednesday December 16, 2020 at 11am PST. We encourage all bidders to attend this online meeting. You may attend either by phone (audio) or by computer (audio and/or video), though we recommend you take advantage of the video as we will present visuals. The details for logging in to this meeting will be made available to all bidders who express an interest in attending by contacting the Contracting Authority before 3:00 pm PST on December 15, 2020. Delivery Date: The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to be completed by June 30, 2021. Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice.
