    Work Description:
    Work under this Standing Offer covers the provision of Carpentry Services for CORCAN, Correctional Service Canada;
    
    The specific requirements in the provision of services shall include, but will not be limited to:
    -perform carpentry work as directed by the Site Supervisor.
    -ensure the maximum use of offender labour, exposing semi-skilled and unskilled candidates to a private-sector working environment.
    -participate, and instruct semi-skilled and unskilled offenders in carpentry techniques to optimize a balance between training and project completion deadlines.
    
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the Statement of Work.
    
    The selected offerors shall provide a range of services as identified in the Statement of Work section of this document for projects in the following zones:
    Zone A: Lower Mainland
    Zone B: Vancouver Island
    
    It is PWGSC's intention to authorize up to one (1) Standing Offer for  Zone A and up to one (1) Standing
    Offer for Zone B, each for a period of two (2) years with two (2) options to extend the Standing Offer 
    Each for an additional consecutive twelve (12) month period.
     
    The total dollar value of all Standing Offers is estimated to be $588,000.00 (GST or HST included)  of
    which $294,000.00 will be allotted to Zone A projects and $294,000.00 will be alotted to Zone B projects.  
    Individual call-ups will vary, up to a maximum of $40,000.00 (GST or HST included).  Offerors should note
    that there is no guarantee that the full or any amount of the Standing Offers will be called-up; CORCAN 
    will issue call-ups only when the specific services to be provided under the Standing Offer are needed. 
    
    
    Period of Standing Offer:
    The period for placing call-ups against the Standing Offer shall be for two (2) years commencing from the start date identified on the Standing Offer.  
    
    The Contractor hereby grants to Canada deux (2) irrevocable option to extend the term of the Contract each for an ADDITIONAL CONSECUTIVE TWELVE (12) MONTH PERIOD, under the same terms and conditions as contained in the Contract. It is to be noted that Canada is not obliged to exercise any of the two (2) options. The exercise of any option will be at Canada's sole discretion, by providing notification in writing to the Contractor at least sixty (60) days prior to the Contract expiry date or the expiry date of an exercised option period.
    
    THIS STANDING OFFER CONTAINS A SECURITY REQUIREMENT:
    The Contractor/Offeror must, at all times during the performance of the Contract/Standing Offer, hold a 
    valid Designated Organization Screening (DOS), issued by the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate 
    (CISD), Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
