    Work Description:
    
    The work is located at the AAFC Agassiz Research and Development Centre in Agassiz, B.C. The site of work in on federally owned land.
    
    The principal works to be executed and for which all materials, permitting, plant and labour are to be supplied by the Contractor as shown in the plans and specifications:
    .1 Removal and disposal of all identified hazardous materials per these specifications.
    .2 Deconstruction of existing Buildings 19, 28, and 50 as indicated on the Contract Drawings. Work on Building 28 is for partial demolition, and the remaining building is to be modified as indicated on the Contract Drawings.
    .3 The septic tank and field for Building 19, along with three septic tanks for Building 28, are to be removed as indicated on the Contract Drawings.
    .4 Utilities are not to be removed but are to be physically disconnected at buildings, capped and buried or otherwise left ready for possible future re-use, with locations of capped ends marked on the “as-built plans” as well as provided with in-ground markers to assist finding the ends in the future.
    .5 Building foundations including slabs on grade, foundation piers, strip footings, and foundation walls to be removed. Backfilled areas to be finished in topsoil and seeded.
    .6 All excavations are to be backfilled with material matching the general soil types elsewhere on site.
    .7 Diversion of materials from landfill is to be maximized.
    .8 Supply of all required close-out submittals including any required paperwork for disposal of items and mark-up as-built drawings.
    
    Optional Site Visit:
    There will be an optional site visit on October 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The site visit will be conducted in the English language only. Bidders are to confirm by e-mail their preference for either official languages.
    
    Interested bidders must meet at 6947 Highway 7, Agassiz, British Columbia, V0M 1A0, meeting at main entrance of main administration building.
    
    Interested bidders are required to communicate with the Contracting Authority, Delia Martin at delia.martin@pwgsc.gc.ca or (778) 707-2139 no later than 24 hours prior to the site visit to confirm attendance.  Bidders should provide, in writing via email, to the Contracting Authority, the name, the telephone number, the email address of the person(s) attending and the language preference (English or French).
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within six (6) weeks from the date of notification of the offer.
    
    Estimated Value: 
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost approximately between $101,000.00 and $500,000. (GST included).
