    Public Service and Procurement Canada, on behalf of the Department of National Defence (Canada) is requesting information from interested parties for the remediation of contaminated soil, sediment and construction water at the Fire Fighting Training Area (FFTA) in Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Comox. This RFI is intended to gather information that could assist Canada in the development of a future procurement process. In the event that sufficient information is received, Canada, may, but is not obligated to, initiate a competitive, limited or directed contracting process.
    
    The purpose of issuing this RFI is to:
    - Provide awareness of the planned project to industry
    - Notify industry of security requirements for the potential contract work on site
    - Notify industry of enhanced health and safety requirements resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic
    - Gather information and interest in this planned project and allow industry to propose ideas or concerns and ask questions
    - Verify that suitable landfilling, treatment and/or destruction facilities exist for the soil contaminants, and anticipated soil volume and quality.  
    - Identify any technical, logistical, or regulatory constraints for contaminant management associated with the material at this site
    
    Interested parties are invited to respond to this RFI by submitting a response to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). Responses should answer all project questions in the RFI, include innovative ideas & recommendations, potential efficiencies & cost-saving opportunities, and the identification of potential risks associated with this work.
    
    All responses will be treated as confidential, subject to the provisions of the Access to Information Act (R.S. 1985, c. A-1) and the Privacy Act (R.S., 1985, c. P-21).
    
    Impacts of COVID-19 pandemic:
    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Daylight Time). 
    
    Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice.
