    ***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Time).

    PWRC Roof Replacement 
    
    Location: 
    Pacific Wildlife Research Centre, Delta, BC
    
    Work Description:
    Contractor to provide all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to perform to completion of work as described in the Contract Documents the roof replacement on designated roof areas of the Pacific Wildlife Research Centre located at 5421 Robertson Road in Delta, BC.
    
    LOW SLOPE MEMBRANE ROOFING: On Roof Areas L-1.1 and L-1.2: Remove existing system components, projection and perimeter flashings, and old appurtenances down to existing deck in preparation for installation of a new waterproofing system.
    
    STEEP SLOPE CEDAR SHINGLE REPLACEMENT (On Roof Areas L-2.1, L-2.2 and T-1.1): Supply all labour, equipment, and materials to install new cedar wood shingle roof system.
    
    STEEP SLOPE CEDAR SHINGLE REPLACEMENT (On Roof Area A-2.3 and S-2.3): Supply all labour, equipment, and materials to install new cedar wood shingle roof system.
    
    If any found, the Contractor is responsible for co-ordination of abatement procedures for all Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM) pertinent to successful performance of Work.
    
    
    Optional Site Visit: 
    
    An optional site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the Pacific Wildlife Research Centre (PWRC), located at 5421 Robertson Road in Delta, BC. Contractors will be allowed to examine the building’s roof between 10:00am to 12:00pm PST. 
    
    The representative of the Bidder must pre-register with the Contracting Authority before 2:00 pm on Monday, November 16, 2020. If you wish to attend, please email Janie Leung at Janie.Leung@pwgsc.gc.ca.
    
    A maximum of two (2) representatives per bidder will be permitted to examine the site. 
    
    Instructions: 
    -WCB approved hard hats and safety footwear must be worn for the site visit.
    -Bidders must bring their own ladders.
    -Bidders must follow Worksafe BC site inspection procedures
    
    COVID Protocol: Masks must be brought to the site visit and are required to be worn when a distance of 2 metres cannot be maintained between people. 
    
    Contractors shall follow COVID-19 procedures in accordance with National Construction Safety Associations COVID-19 Standardized Protocols https://www.cca-acc.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/CCA-COVID-19-Standardized-Protocols-for-All-Canadian-Construction-Sites-05-26-20.pdf which was published in May 2020. Furthermore, contractors will need to address PPE and hygiene issues as per Worksafe BC regulations, and Provincial guidelines.
    
    
    Optional Virtual Site Visit
    
    As part of the tender process, an optional online video meeting will be scheduled on Tuesday, November 10th, 2020 at 10:30 PST.  We encourage all bidders to attend this online video meeting.  The details for logging in to this meeting will be made available to all bidders who express an interest in attending by contacting the Contracting Authority before 3:00 pm PST November 9th, 2020.     Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the work within ten (10) weeks of Contract Award.
    
    Value of Project: 
    To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $100,001.00 and $500,000.00.
    
    Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain tender (solicitation) documents through Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued will be available from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Firms that elect to base their bids on tender (solicitation) documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their intention to bid.
