    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIDDERS:

Bidders should also note the requirements set out in SI05 Bid Security Requirements and that only electronic bid bonds will be accepted as bid security. A scanned copy of a bond does not constitute an electronic bond. Certified cheques, bank drafts, standby Letters of Credit and hard copy bid bonds will not be acceptable.

    SI11 COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement and Certification has been added:
    This requirement is subject to the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Supplier Personnel. All Bidders must provide with their bid, the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Certification attached to this bid solicitation (Appendix 4). This Certification incorporated into the bid solicitation on its closing date is incorporated into, and forms a binding part of any resulting Contract. Failure to complete and provide the COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement Certification as part of the bid will render the bid non-responsive.
    
    Work Description:
    This Contract covers the following work at the Mountain Institution, Building K, entry vestibule (K-M5a), exit vestibule (K-M1a), dining (K-M10a) and servery (K-N8), at 4732 Cemetery Road, Agassiz, BC V0M 1A0.
    - Flooring replacement work must be carried out in at least 6 to 8 phases in order to maintain the servery and dining area functions for Correctional Service Canada (CSC). Contractor must fully complete one phase for occupancy before moving on to the next phase. Phasing diagram will be provided at the start up meeting.
    - Temporarily, remove servery equipment, seating, furniture and shelving for flooring replacement. Disconnect electrical and mechanical service lines for the removed equipment.
    - Demolish and dispose existing floor finish. Prepare floor slab per new flooring material specification.
    - Install new methyl methacrylate floor system with integrated cove base.
    - Re-install the temporarily removed servery equipment, seating and shelving for flooring replacement work back to their original conditions
     
    
    
    Site Visit: 
    Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
    
    There will be an optional site visit on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 10:30 am PST. All site visit attendees must pre-register with the Contracting Authority, Janie Leung, by email at Janie.Leung@pwgsc.gc.ca, no later than 12:00 pm PST Tuesday, February 22, 2022, and provide the following information:

    ***Bidders who do not follow the above procedures and/or show up for the site visit unannounced will be denied entry.***
    
    Contractors attending the site visit are required to show one (1) piece of government issued ID, such as a Driver’s License. 
    
    All contractors must wear a high visibility vest, hard hat and safety boots which meets WCB standards, for all site visits including a tender site visit.  No cameras, cell phones (of any type) or laptop computers are allowed into institutions at any time.
    
    COVID Protocols
    Masks and face shields must be worn at all times while inside the Institution and will be supplied at the principal entrance.  COVID-19 rapid tests and Covid-19 Screening Questionnaires will be supplied and must be completed by all attendees at the meeting point prior to entering the institution.  Attendees who do not complete the tests and questionnaire and attendees who test positive will be denied entry.
    Physical distancing must be maintained at all times.
    Travel to and from the site is at the Bidder’s own expense and risk. Bidders are responsible for familiarizing themselves and complying with public health protocols in effect for COVID-19, including travel restrictions.
    
    
    
    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within twelve (12) weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer.
    
    Value of Project: 
    To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $100,001 to $500,000.
