Bid Depository: The General Contractor must obtain bids for the Mechanical and Electrical trade through BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors (BOBS) according to its rules of procedure (www.bidcentral.ca/bobs). All questions regarding BidCentral Online Bidding for Subcontractors is to b e referred to the BOBS Administrator as indicated in the BOBS rules of procedures. The General Contractor must instruct the Mechanical and Electrical Trade Contractors bidding directly to the General Contractor to bid on the scope of the work as defined in the BOBS rules of procedures (e.g. trade definitions, specification sections etc.). Notwithstanding anything else contained in this bid solicitation, no Bidder, General Contractor or Subcontractor or any other person or entity will have any claim whatsoever (including but not limited to a claim of negligence) or any compensation of any kind whatsoever against Canada a s a result of participation in or use of BOBS, or participation in the BOBS process, or as a result of the interpretation, application or non-application of their rules of procedure. Work Description: Work under this contract comprises renovation of ventilation system located at the Summerland Research Centre; Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre at Summerland is further identified as PARC. Work to be performed under this Contract includes but is not limited to: - Replacement of existing cooling towers, CT-1 and CT-2. Removal of existing cooling towers and provision of two new cooling towers at new location. - Provision of new condenser water piping between existing chillers and new cooling towers. - Provision of new condenser water pumps (serving chillers and process loads) - Addition of Chemical Storage building and associated services to the building. - Provision of new control system to the new mechanical equipment. - Electrical work upgrade to accommodate mechanical system upgrade and new chemical storage building. - Architectural work upgrade to supplement mechanical system upgrade and to new chemical storage building. - Phased construction, to accommodate limited interruption to the services of the building. - Supply and installation of a complete, fully functional, tested and commissioned mechanical system, with ancillaries. All materials and equipment supplied and installed shall be new except the relocated equipment specified in the drawings. Commissioning works includes mechanical, electrical, architectural, and stru ctural components and systems. Return all reusable removed equipment to PARC as directed by the Departmental Representative. Coordinate and confirm with PARC for all the reusable equipment. Move and store in a location on the premises, designated and coordinated wi th PARC. Optional Site Visit: A site visithas been scheduled for November 24th, 2015 2015 at 10:00 am Interested bidders are to meet at the entrance of the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre, located at 4200 Highway #97 South, Su mmerland BC, V0H 1Z0. Bidders are to note that this site visit is not mandatory. However, it is responsibility of the Bidders to become familiarize with the site an d all conditions likely to affect the cost of the work. Delivery Date: Work under this Contract to be completed by December 20, 2016.
