Work Description 
The project is to construct a steel pile supported timber wall approximately 70 meters long adjacent to the existing face of the wharf at Gibsons harbour. The wall is to consist of approximately 24 driven steel piles, with steel pipe sleeves installed over top to support whalers, along with timber vertical planks extending from the wharf elevation to sub-tidal to act as awave break.
  
Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.


Optional Site Visit
Interested bidders are encouraged to preview the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.  An optional site visit is scheduled on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.  Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled starttime. Attendees are requested to meet at the Gibsons Landing Harbour Office located at the end of the wharf.


Delivery Date
The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of the tender by the Contracting Authority. PhaseA, representing 35% of the project must be completed no later than March 31, 2017.  Phase B, representing the remaining 65% of the project must be completed no later than May 31, 2017.

Value of Project
To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, the work is estimated to cost around $1,200,000.00.

Addenda, when issued will be available from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.
