    Work Description 
    Department of Fisheries and Oceans though Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) has a requirement for the replacement of two (2) air-conditioning units, the addition an exhaust fan and relief opening plus upgrades to the mechanical and control systems in the DFO Laboratory building located in Cultus Lake, British Columbia
    
    The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to the following items:
    • Remove two, existing split system air conditioning units, BCU-1 and 2;
    • Remove/recycle all refrigerant from equipment before removing equipment;
    • Provide new split system heat pumps; HP1 and HP2 (indoor and outdoor units);
    • Modify ductwork as indicated in the drawings;
    • Relocate existing louvre and provide new intake louver as indicated on the drawings.;
    • Provide new exhaust fan, EF-101;
    • Provide penetrations, opening framework, flashing and sealing work to prepare andmake good any penetrations/attachments in/on exterior walls;
    • Provide new temperature sensors, thermostats, dampers, actuators and controllers as
    indicated in the drawings;
    • Provide a new digital controls system, as specified, to control the new andexisting HVAC Equipment as indicated;
    • Provide controls for existing boiler, primary, secondary and reheat coil circulation pumps, control valves and operational status of the three existing fume hoods;
    • Provide hot water control valves and room temperature sensors where indicated on the drawings;
    • Conduct an air balance of the air handling systems;
    • Conduct cleaning and testing of new piping systems;
    • Conduct cleaning of new and existing ductwork;
    • Provide Electrical work associated with the upgrade of the mechanical systems;
    • Commission all equipment and provide commissioning reports for all equipment and systems supplied under this contract;
    • Provide Operating and Maintenance Manuals and As-Built Drawings; and
    • Provide on-site training for the Operations staff.
    • Provide 1 year parts and labour warranty.
    
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules within the scope of work.
    
    
    Optional Site Visit
    Interested bidders are encouraged to preview the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.  An optional site visit is scheduled on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Attendees are requested to be at the main entrance to the facility, 15 minutes prior to the start of the site visit.
    
    
    Delivery Date
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification of acceptance of the tender by the ContractingAuthority. Substantial construction is to be completed by May 31, 2017 and all construction and deficiency follow-up work completed by June 30, 2017.

    Value of Project
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, the work is estimated to cost around $145,000.00
