Work Description: The work under this contract is the first phase of the intended Rehabilitation of buildings, as follows: Work on Former Territorial Courthouse: 1: Selective Demolition of scheduled interior finishes and elements; including but not limited to their careful removal (ref. Section 02 41 00 -Selective Demolition) and handing over to the Departmental Representative or disposal. 2: Abatement of scheduled hazardous materials. 3: Removal & disposal of obsolete and decommissioned Courthouse plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment and material, except for limited designated (tagged) heritage-value electrical equipment, insulators and wiring; 4: Provide full-time fire watch when the fire alarm system is disabled, including the carriage shed. Disconnect fire alarm device in the boiler shed (to be demolished). Re-commission & verify fire alarm system. Outbuildings - Chicken Coop and Boiler Shed: 1: Abatement of scheduled hazardous materials. 2: Demolition of both outbuildings, including structures, equipment, foundations, fuel tank and mounts/foundation, above-ground Utilidor, and wood garbage shelter. Backfill to grade. 3: Remove the Chicken Coop superstructure without disturbance of the soils below. Allow for Archaeological Review of the exposed soils. 4: Remove the underground Utilidor and water pipe on the east side of the Courthouse. Patch the basement wall penetrations from both services. Site Visit: Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with the site as well as the nature and extent of the work. There is an optional site visit scheduled for Thursday July 26, 2018 at 10:00 AM PDST at the Former Territorial Courthouse located at 301 Front Street, Dawson City, YT. Please note that there is no taxi service available between the Dawson Airport and Dawson City. Bidders should pre-register for the site visit by emailing delia.martin@pwgsc.gc.ca no later than Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 16:00 PDST. Parks Canada can provide transportation to and from the Dawson Airport and the Dawson City Courthouse, if required. Delivery Date: The Contractor shall perform and complete the work within 14 weeks of Contract award. Value of Project: To assist with insurance requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $700,000.00 and $800,000.00. Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain tender (solicitation) documents through Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders. Addenda, when issued will be available from Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.
