    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Time).

    Work Description
    Work covered by Contract Documents:
    • This Contract covers the following work at the Kent Institution, Agassiz, BC.
    • Set up three temporary mobile coolers, including rental and maintenance for the duration of construction, for kitchen operations before all other construction activities.
    • Remove existing furniture and equipment from the scope area to a designated area within Building Q to facilitate demolition and construction. Provide construction barriers per specification.
    • Demolish existing floor finish and ceiling assembly with associated building components as indicated on drawings in the meat preparation area.
    • Salvage or dispose demolition debris according to specified procedures within.
    • Conduct abatement procedures according to specification and hazardous building material assessment report.
    • Construct new floor finish and ceiling assembly with electrical and mechanical upgrades in accordance with drawings and specification.
    • Additional electrical and mechanical upgrades in the mechanical room on the 2nd floor and the roof of Building Q. Refer scope details to electrical, mechanical drawings and specification.
    • Commissioning and close out procedures.
    
    Work to be performed under this Contract includes, but not limited to, the following items covered further in the Contract documents:
    • Provide a detailed work plan including a project schedule and phasing.  This work plan shall be submitted to the Departmental Representative for review to verify that there will be no interruption of service.
    • Do not start work until all essential equipment is delivered to the site and the work can proceed without delays.
    • Provide as-built drawings and closeout submittals.
    
    Perform work of the kitchen and meat preparation area after normal working hours of the Institution from 18:00 to 05:00. Kitchen must be fully operational during normal hours from 06:00 to 17:30 without interruptions from construction
    
    Site Visit
    There will be a site visit on July 14,2021 at 14:00 local time. Interested bidders are to meet at PSPC site office and sign-in prior to site visit starting. Direction to the site office is attached. 
    
    COVID-19 protocol:  Masks and shields will be provided by CSC at the principal entrance, social distancing in place.  Interested bidders are recommended to register with the Contracting Authority, Isabell Park at ji-yonisabell.park@pwgsc-tpsgc.gc.ca by proving the names and the contact details.  Registration should be completed no later than 24 hours prior to the site visit. 
    
    Special Instruction: no electronic devices will be permitted. Additional photos can be taken using PSPC provided camera. Any additional photos taken will be posted on the tendering site.
    
    Completion of the Work 
    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work within (12) weeks from the date of notification of acceptance of the offer.
    
    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $100,001 to $500,000.
