    Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and to encourage physical distancing, the bid receiving unit in Vancouver will remain open but with limited staff and limited hours: Monday to Friday, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm (Pacific Time).

    Work Covered by Contract
    The work should be represented as barrier replacements at the Kledo River Bridge (509.1 km) and Prochniak Creek Bridge (737.5 km) located on the Alaska Highway in Northern British Columbia.
    
    Work under this Contract generally includes but is not limited to,
    1. Full removal of the existing barrier systems, full removal of existing bridge deck cantilevers, partial depth removal of existing bridge deck, and partial removal of approach transition barriers
    2. Re-construction of bridge deck cantilevers
    3. Fabrication, supply and install new bridge barriers and deck drains
    4. Installation of signage and all site finishes as specified
    5. Specific work items for the Kledo River Bridge include: repair of erosion at the end of the northwest barrier flare as indicated on Drawing S03; bird nest removal as indicated on Drawing S03; removal of the flexible sealant from 10 bold holes in the steel box girders; and sealing 10 bolt holes with a flexible sealant in the box girder at the end diaphragm near the south abutment
    6. Unless specially stated otherwise, the work is to include the furnishing of all labour, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the work.  The intent is that the Contractor provides a complete Job. 
    
    Due to the remoteness and the location of the PSPC operated section of the Alaska Highway which passes through the traditional territories of the First Nations belonging to the Treaty 8 Tribal Association (primarily the southern section of the Highway) as well as the traditional territories of the First Nations belonging to the Daylu Dena Council (primarily the northern section of the Highway), bidders are encouraged to employ the available local workforce and utilize other locally available resources and heavy equipment.     Completion of the Work 
    All work under this contract must be completed by December 15, 2021.
    
    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project is estimated to cost between $500,001 to $1,000,000.
