    Description of the requirement:
    Background
The technical and scientific personnel working in the fields of
spectral and geospatial exploitation (SGE) acquire, process,
analyze, store and manage sensor data. For example, technology
demonstration projects have generated nearly 120terabytes (TB)
of acquisition data and this could grow to 300TB by the end of
    2016.

At all times, personnel use computer systems to support these
business processes in conducting their classified and
unclassified research and development (R&D). The systems in
place are of varying complexity; they evolve according to needs,
the nature of activities and new technologies on the market. The
computing infrastructure for centralized exploitation of large
volumes of classified data is an example of the type of systems
to be administered that are based on an advanced storage
technology known as network-attached storage (NAS) scale-out
connected to an optical fibre network with a 10 Gbps transfer
    rate.
    Scope
Provide professional System Administrator services for Defence
Research and Development Canada's (DRDC) SGE section. These
services are required from Monday to Friday, excluding the
period from 24December to 2 January and federal government
statutory holidays. The Contractor shall agree that leave cannot
exceed two weeks in a row, and that the maximum leave that can
be taken is 4 weeks. Leave periods must be approved by the DRDC
    representative.

    Proposed period of contract:
The proposed period of contract shall be from the date the
Contract is awarded and ends March 31, 2016.
Option to Extend the Contract: 2 additional 1-year periods.
