Title: Development of a modular digital model of a guided bomb.

The intent of this Request for Information is to assess the feasibility, delivery times and development cost of a modular digital model in C++ of a GNSS/INS-guided bomb.

The model will be used primarily for generating areas of risk, studying the effects of failure on bomb performance, and observing the influence of a flight termination system.

Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) develops and delivers the applied R&D programs, and offers direct support to the Royal Canadian Air Force projects relating to the development and validation of air weapons systems capabilities.

Note: Since this Request for Information is not a request for proposals (RFP) and since no contract will be awarded solely because of the RFP, Canada reserves the right to see the responses upon receipt, ie, Canada wants to be able to consult the responses before the closing date.

This Request for Information (RFI) is not a Request for Proposals (RFP), and no contract will be awarded solely because of the RFI. 

Note to interested suppliers: 
There is no future contract issuance or purchase commitment from Canada. The issuance of this Request for Information does not oblige Canada to issue a subsequent RFP, and does not bind Canada legally or otherwise, to enter into any agreement or to accept or reject any suggestions. No lists of firms eligible to do future work will be drawn up as a result of this RFI. Similarly, participation in this Request for Information is not a condition or prerequisite for participation in any RFP

Canada does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Any and all expenses incurred by the suppliers in pursuing this opportunity, including the provision of information and travel to the presentation, if applicable, are at the supplier's sole expense.

Although the documents, information or collected data may be provided as commercial-in-confidence and will not be provided to a third party outside of Canada, Canada reserves the right to use the information in drafting performance specifications and for budgetary planning. 

Suppliers are advised that any information provided to Canada in response to this RFI may, or may not, be used by Canada in developing a possible RFP. Suppliers who respond to this RFI should specify whether the information provided is confidential, proprietary or if the response contains information on controlled goods.
