Description
Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: None Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: 1. REQUIREMENT Defence Research and Development Canada - Valcartier (DRDC) has a requirement for one (1) high-speed camera, and also for related equipements. Combustion and ballistic tests are to be carried out at DRDC Valcartier laboratories to support STISA and FSAR client requests/needs, as well as support a TIF project on plasma generation. Several test campaigns require image capture using a camera with high speed acquisition and very good resolution in the ultraviolet region in order to visualize the different phenomena involved during the event. This will help to better understand the phenomena, model them with theoretical models, validate these models to the experimental data obtained by the camera and document the results. It is therefore very important that measurement be precise and the image be of high quality. High speed and high resolution UV camera will be an essential tool for the WS section. It will allow, among other things, to characterize the fast phenomena such as the generation of plasma (> 50kHz), muzzle flash (small, medium and large calibers) and UV signatures of rocket motors. This camera will help us to accurately measure the UV flash from the small arms gun and assess the effectiveness of the suppressor. It will complement the IR camera already purchased. Acronyms : CMOS : complementary metal oxide semiconductor MOS : metal oxide semiconductor Desired requirement: The camera must be fibre-optically coupled to a gateable 18mm hybrid image intensifier for hi-speed applications. The image intensifier is coupled to the CMOS sensor of the camera. Mandatory minimum requirements: 1. Intensifier / CMOS a. Intensifier : Gen 2 coupled with fiber-optics b. Intensifier diameter: 18 mm c. Spectral band coverage : 250 à 450 nm d. Minimum resolution : 1280 X 1024 e. Acquisition speed at full frame : 500 frames per second f. Quantum efficiency of 25% at 270 nm g. Spectral sensitivity (photocathode); 32 mA/W at 270nm h. Internal memory : minimum 8 GB i. Dynamic range : minimum 8 bits / 60 dB j. Gating rate: 3 ns 2. Timing parameters a. Control and programming of integration time b. Gate pulse width control : 3ns-10s c. Gate delay time control : 0-10s d. Repetition frequency : 200kHz 3. Mechanical Specifications a. Interchangeable lens mount, c-mount preferred b. Operating temperature from 5 to 40C 4. Input/Output and Interface a. Ethernet Gigabit Interface b.
