    Gutting and Decontamination of Prince Shoal Lighthouse
    
    PROJECT DESCRIPTION
    
    The demolition, gutting and decontamination work will be done on the former accommodations in the Prince Shoal Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located in the middle of the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Fjord du Saguenay, east of the village of Tadoussac.
    
    The approximate coordinates of the lighthouse are 48° 06' 00'' N and 69° 37' 00'' W. 
    
    The lighthouse is accessible only by boat or helicopter.
    
    DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
    
    This list of work is not necessarily complete and does not relieve Contractor of the responsibility to carry out any other work, changes or modifications necessary or appropriate to satisfactorily complete the Work under this Project.
    
    • The complete gutting of the accommodation: that is, demolition, removal and disposal of all non-structural elements (interior system), all non-structural drywall, all finishes (floors, walls, ceilings) and ventilation fans, all insulation elements, all electrical elements and systems, all heating and ventilation elements and systems, all plumbing elements and systems, all built-in furnishings, all furniture, all waste, and all other elements in the accommodation. Many of these elements are contaminated with mould and lead-based paint.
    • Draining, cleaning and decontamination of fuel and water tanks.
    • Removal and disposal of elements containing asbestos, mercury, and PCBs.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT
    
    1. There will be an optional site visit forbidders that will be held on October 18, 2016.
    2. In order to schedule transportation to the work site, each bidder who wishes to attend this visit should confirm its attendance by e-mail, at least 48 hours before the site visit, at the following address: Isabelle.Girard@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca. Confirmations of attendance received after that time may not result in an answer being provided.
    3. A confirmation email containing the date, time and address of the meeting point will be sent out to all those who will attend the site visit.
    4. A maximum attendance of 2 visitors per bidder will be accepted.
    5. Each visitor attending the visit must provide its own approved lifejacket. No life jackets will be provided by the Departmental Representative.
    6. Any visitor without an approved lifejacket will be denied transportation to the work site and will be considered absent for the visit.
    
    MANDATORY CRITERIA AT CLOSING DATE
    
    • The Bidder shall enclose bid security with its bid.
    
    PERIOD OF WORK
    
    The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work within the following timeframe:
    • Substantial Performance of Work must be done by June 9, 2017.
    • Final delivery of Work must be made on June 22, 2017.
