Shared Storage Solution


REQUIREMENT
This bid solicitation is being issued to satisfy the requirement
of the National Film Board of Canada (the "Client") for a shared
storage solution for its specific video and sound postproduction
needs.  The bid solicitation is intended to result in the award
of a three-year lease contract with purchase option, including
maintenance and support services.
The Client whishes to achieve its objectives of transitioning to
an entirely digital environment for image and sound
postproduction of original works and technical support for the
restoration of works in its collection. These objectives are as
follows:
a.	To produce original works of the highest industry quality
standards in an entirely digital environment (tapeless).
b.	Ingestion and indexing of all media for postproduction
purposes, be they from original shoots or any other source.
c.	To define and obtain a shared storage solution for its
specific video- and sound-postproduction needs.
d.	Flexibility: The Client seeks to implement a solution that
offers greater storage and management flexibility over the
short- and medium-term, and accessibility to media under
production/postproduction.

CANADIAN CONTENT
The requirement is subject to a preference for Canadian goods
and/or services.

Any and all requests for information concerning this request for
proposal must be submitted at least seven (7) calendar days
prior to its closing date.
