    SUMMARY:

This project consists of an archaeological intervention on Nun's
Island in the context of a larger project: a New Bridge over the
St Lawrence River. The area concerned by the present commission
is located just north of the Champlain Bridge where significant
known and inferred archaeological resources exist, among which
the LeBer site (BiFj-1, hereinafter 'Site LeBer') and a
paleohistoric site where a burial was found (BiFj-49), and where
a large area potentially holds archaeological resources that
    remain unknown to this date.

Given the known and inferred archaeological resources,
Infrastructure Canada wishes to conduct archaeological
interventions to release the area of any archaeological
constraint in a zone possibly affected by construction work.
