The Correctional Service Canada (CSC) is seeking availability
information from industry for an Advanced Volumetric Sensor
Systems and Technologies for the detection of motion inside and
outside the perimeter of institutions (AVSS).
OBJECTIVES OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to
communicate CSC requirements and invite industry experts to
provide input to CSC's requirement or to re-align CSC's
expectation with industry capability, experience, and direction.
The information may be used to support the Government of
Canada's decision-making process.

CSC has decided that the issuance of a Request for Information
(RFI) to the industry, in order to elicit the expert opinions of
private sector organizations specializing in the provision of
advanced security detection technology, would generate a broad
and relevant picture of what is possible and what current
industry leaders believe is the best approach for CSC to take.

This is not a bid solicitation and no Contract will result
directly from this RFI.  As a result, potential suppliers of any
goods or services described in this RFI should neither reserve
stock or facilities, nor allocate resources, as a result of any
information contained in this RFI.  Nor will this RFI result in
the creation of any source list or pre-qualification. 
Therefore, whether or not any potential supplier responds to
this RFI will not preclude that supplier from participating in
any future procurement.

Partial responses will be acceptable.

All enquiries and other communications related to this LOI shall
be directly exclusively to the PWGSC Contracting Authority.

This is neither a call for tender nor a Request for Proposal
(RFP), and no agreement or contract for the procurement of the
equipment stated above will be entered into solely as a result
of this LOI. This announcement does not constitute a commitment
by Canada. Canada does not intend to award a contract on the
basis of the notice or otherwise pay for the information
solicited. Any and all expenses incurred by industry in pursing
this opportunity, including the provision of information and
potential visits, are at industry's sole risk and expense.
