Integrated Soldier System Project (ISSP) Project Description: The Integrated Soldier System Project (ISSP), a capital acquisition project, will acquire equipment aimed at significantly enhancing Canadian dismounted soldier capabilities in the five NATO capability areas of C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence), Lethality, Mobility, Survivability, and Sustainability during the 2012-2018 timeframe. The project will provide the soldier with an integrated suite of equipment that includes electronic devices, sensors and individual equipment. This soldier system will significantly increase soldier performance, as soldiers will seamlessly share data and voice communications through a network. This capability will facilitate effective and timely interaction. As a result, soldiers will have more comprehensive situational awareness, real-time tactical information and greater synchronization of activity.
