    The Parks Canada Agency has a requirement to purchase floating
    docks.  All the deliverables must be received on or before May
    30, 2014; no installation will be required under this contract.
    
    The proposed bidders must meet all mandatory criteria detailed
    in the Request for Proposal document.
    
    Some of the mandatory criteria are provided below.  Refer to the
    Request for Proposal for the complete list.
    
    The minimum requirements for the floating docks are:
    
    Steel Float Tubes: 
    a.	must be 24 inches x 3/16 inches welded pipe
    b.	all welds must conform to the applicable welding
    standards/codes
    2.	Sub Frame: 
    a.	must be 3 inches x 3 inches x 3/16 inches length using 44W
    steel
    3.	Coating (steel surfaces): 
    a.	the Contractor must use BAR-RUST Epoxy Coating or equivalent
    commercial epoxy coating
    4.	Decking: 
    a.	must be 2 inches by 6 inches
    b.	must be ACQ - Amine Copper Quaternary or CA - Copper Azole
    pressure treated wood
    d.	must be screw mounted deck boards
    5.	Skirt Boards:
    a.	must be 2 inches x 8 inches
    b.	must be ACQ - Amine Copper Quaternary or CA - Copper Azole
    pressure treated wood
    6.	Stringers:
    a.	4inches x 4inches
    b.	must be ACQ - Amine Copper Quaternary or CA - Copper Azole
    pressure treated wood
    7.	Connectors:
    a.	must include steel connecting hardware to allow for each dock
    configuration as shown in Appendix A
    b.	must be galvanized or otherwise corrosion resistant.
    8.	All materials, including metal fittings, hardware, nails,
    hinges and bolts must be galvanized or otherwise corrosion
    resistant.
    9.	The mooring rings/cleats on the docks must be of sufficient
    strength to moor/tie 40ft vessels/boats.
    10.	Must include anchor points:
    c.	four anchor plates are required for each dock, two at each end
    d.	must fit the dimension of the anchor chains which is 3/8"
    11.	Deck height must be 18 inches to 20 inches above the water
    12.	Docks:
    a.	must be structurally framed so as to sustain pressures from
    vessels/boats up to 40ft as well as having vessels/boats moored
    to them in heavy winds/waves.
    b.	must have cross bars/stringers to take weight from centre.
    c.	must float in 2 feet of water
    
    
    
    Delivery Date: 30/05/2014
    
    The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
    procurement.
    
    Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
