Introduction

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has a requirement for an electronic design and fabrication equipment used for developing prototype electronic circuit boards. A Computer Numerically Controlled Circuit Milling Machine is required by Research Support Section (RSS) for the construction of custom circuit boards for data acquisition systems used in the support of ECCC’s priority field programs.  

Background

The mandate of the Research Support Section (RSS) of Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), Water Science and Technology Directorate (WSTD), Instrumentation Service Unit (ISU), is to provide electronic design and fabrication for specialized field data acquisition projects. This will allow Instrumentation Service to fabricate custom circuit boards that will be used in support of ECCC programs. As a centralized support organization, RSS strives to ensure that the most effective technologies are utilized to ensure and provide high caliber data acquisition systems to support the Institute’s present and future water research and monitoring studies.
