FROM 21 NOVEMBER 2013 TO 26 NOVEMBER 2013.

Automated DNA Extractor

The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), Laboratory for
Foodborne Zoonoses (LFZ), Guelph, ON, requires two (2) automated
high throughput nucleic acid extraction systems (Automated DNA
extractor systems).  These systems are required to automate
routine nucleic acid extraction in several programs at LFZ when
working with large numbers of samples.   The Automated DNA
Extractors will improve the speed of pathogen detection and
identification and streamline the process with increased speed
and efficiency.   

The system must simultaneously process 96 bacterial samples
using the preferred magnetic bead chemistry currently used with
assays developed in-house. The system must be flexible and allow
the use of several DNA extraction kits to meet the needs of many
users, and must have the capacity to modify protocols to meet
future needs.

The Contract will also include an option to purchase a second
and third year extended system warranty, including on-site
service for parts, labour and travel for all Automated DNA
Extractor issues.
