Description
Trade Agreement: WTO-AGP/NAFTA/AIT/Canada FTAs with Peru/Colombia/Panama Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: None Competitive Procurement Strategy: Best Overall Proposal Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: The Bid Closing Date is extended to March 10, 2014. ----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------- Title: Laser Based Point Scanning Confocal Microscope System The Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Southern Crop Protection and Food Research Centre (SCPFRC), London, Ontario has a requirement for the supply and delivery of quantity one (1), state of the art Laser Based Point Scanning Confocal Microscope System that can accommodate a large number of diverse applications and research needs. The requirement also includes the installation, training and 4 years extended warranty for the microscope. Given the increased demand and diverse application strategies targeted by numerous ongoing and anticipated research projects at the SCPFRC, the Laser Based Point Scanning Confocal Microscope System will be used for high-resolution visualization of cellular compartments and components, macromolecular interactions, intracellular transport and cell-to-cell movement . The required Laser Based Point Scanning Confocal Microscope System must be manufactured, delivered and warrantied by one (1) firm. Some of the Mandatory Technical Specifications are: 1. The system must have a modular-configuration to minimize the potential for electrical interference or vibration and must fit into a 7'3" x 11' room; 2. The system must have high resolution real-time optical sectioning of fixed and live specimens (cells, tissues, organs) using a laser based point scanning confocal microscope; 3. It must have the ability to perform simultaneous imaging and photo-stimulation experiments for photo-bleaching, diffusion and cellular transportation studies of tagged proteins and organelles (such as fluorescent resonance energy transfer [FRET] imaging, fluorescence in situ hybridization [FISH] analysis, fluorescence loss in photo-bleaching [FLIP], and fluorescence recovery after photo-bleaching [FRAP]); 4. The system must have Green fluorescent protein (GFP), Cyan fluorescent protein (CFP), Yellow fluorescent protein (YFP), and Red fluorescent protein (RFP) based multi-spectral imaging, and advanced 3D modeling capabilities. 5. A spectral detection system with a minimum 2nm resolution must be provided, since fluorophores with overlapping emission spectra will be used. 6. The detection system must be capable of equalizing resolution of multiple wavelengths in co-localization experiments; Refer to the Request for Proposal, Annex A for a list of detailed Mandatory Technical Specifications. Delivery is required as soon as possible to SCPFRC, London, Ontario. Delivery Date: Above-mentioned The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement. Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
