Description
Trade Agreement: NAFTA / CFTA / FTAs with Peru / Colombia / Panama / Korea Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: diesel generator set F1700-186800/A Dunsmore, Adrianne Telephone No. - (604) 351-7735 Fax No. - (604) 775-7526 The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) Canada requires the supply and delivery of a diesel generator set to the Prince Rupert Coast Guard Base, for DFO deployment to Boat Bluff Light Station. Boat Bluff Light Station is located approximately 232km North West of Port Hardy and 221km South East of Prince Rupert and is accessible by helicopter only. There is also the option to purchase additional generators over a one year period. The generator is required to replace a generator that has failed. The generators at our light stations provide the site with power to allow our light keepers to remain on site and complete their daily duties. The generators also provide the site with enough power for the light keepers to remain on site for the duration of the year. They run appliances such as ovens, stoves and laundry machines. The generators also provide the site with the necessary lighting and heating. The Simson Maxwell generator has been requested as the current components in place in the engine rooms at all light station are designed around this system. This includes the ducting system as well as the control system. The engine/generator footprint at our stations also requires us to have a Simson Maxwell Generator/Engine in place. Along with working with the components, the Simson Maxwell generators are installed at 27 of our light stations where we have individuals living. If something were to go wrong with the generators, we would require our machine shop or electrical shop to get to site as soon as possible and fix the problem. This requires us having spare parts on hand. Our preventative maintenance is also organized around these generators to ensure we avoid as many failures as possible. The final reason for requesting this specific generator is due to health and safety. A generator could require repair at a moment’s notice and due to the configuration of our system, we have the necessary spare parts in stock for these systems that can allow for an emergency repair. On top of the reasons mentioned above, our light stations are going through a power generation upgrade which includes inverters, battery banks, solar panels and wind turbines. Currently at Boat Bluff, we have an inverter system installed and a battery bank. This system coincides with our Simson Maxwell generator set specifically. T5his is the same case for the rest of our light stations that are currently going through this upgrade. The requirement is subject to the provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA) Delivery Date: Above-mentioned The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement. Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
