ROPE

The CCGS Gordon Reid serves a number of functions, including
search and rescue and other emergency operations. In order to
perform these functions, it must be equipped with rope of the
specifications given below. The rope previously installed and
used on the Gordon Reid has failed, and in order to maintain
operational capacity, new rope and chafing gear must be obtained
and installed.

The supplier must provide 190 metres of rope that meets the
following requirements:
1.	High-modulus polyethylene fibre;
2.	12 strand;
3.	56 mm diameter;
4.	0.98 density;
5.	218,000 kg minimum breaking strain;
6.	2 metre soft-eye splice at either end;
7.	Samson DC GARD 706 size "E" chafing gear installed during
splice;
8.	Samson DC MOOR-GARD 705 size "F" chafing gear installed prior
to the splice at each 		end; and
9.	Two (2) spare Samson DC GARD 706 size "E" chafe gear.

The mandatory delivery deadline for this requirement is on or
before March 31, 2015.
