Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) requires the supply and delivery of 1 (one) mid-water Tucker trawl net system for use as part of Fisheries and Oceans ocean monitoring programs. 

The supply must include primary and backup components to ensure project delivery of remote Arctic field programs.

The mid-water trawl net system is needed to sample marine zooplankton and larval fish at multiple discrete depths in coastal and off-shore regions of the Arctic. The trawl system must include instrumentation to concurrently monitor operational conditions (e.g. pitch and flow) and basic oceanographic variables. The mid-water trawl will be towed from research vessels with A-frame or crane capabilities. Specified mesh sizes will be used to target large sized zooplankton and/or larval fish for taxonomic and process studies in support of ecosystem assessments in Arctic waters.

The Tucker trawl net system must be an opening and closing net system capable of sampling a minimum of 3 (three) discrete water layers for zooplankton and fish larvae. The trawl net system must include a suite of instruments to control net deployments as well as monitor trawl and environmental conditions. All trawl system components must allow for sampling in Arctic conditions. The operating depth for the equipment is between 20 meters and 1000 meters.

This requirement includes the option to purchase up to 6 (six) additional zooplankton nets and Cod ends. Reference to Annex B, Basis of Payment.

Delivery, FOB Destination: Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Winnipeg, Manitoba, on or before March 30, 2018.

The requirement is subject to the provisions of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
