    Description
    Trade Agreement: NONE
    Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid
    Competitive Procurement Strategy: N/A - P&A/LOI Only
    Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No
    Nature of Requirements:

    The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to assist Transport Canada (TC) Aircraft Services Directorate (ASD) to identify industry leaders in order to procure a COTS product that will support the planning, acquisition, implementation and use of an Aircraft Inventory and Maintenance Management System (AIMMS). As an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) and Airworthiness Engineering Organization (AEO), ASD is using a mix of software applications/systems as well as electronic and paper forms to ensure that aircraft maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner as required by the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs). ASD is soliciting information that will result in selecting an efficient and robust COTS web-based AIMMS that can be accessed preferably through a Cloud (SaaS) platform from multiple locations across Canada including Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) icebreakers. The solution needs to be able to maintain different fleet types (Currently 9) comprised of 18 fixed wing and 26 rotary wing aircraft.

    The information provided through this RFI will be reviewed as part of a process of acquiring, transitioning and implementing an enterprise system for ASD end-users involved with the aircraft inventory and maintenance management.

    The motivation behind ASD’s decision to renew its AIMMS is to modernize business systems and replace unsupported software with a modern up to date environment. In doing so, the following criteria needs to be respected:

    -An environment that is safe, effective, robust and compliant to Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs);
    -Improves productivity; and
    -Reduces costs.

    The overall objective of the AIMMS Project is to provide ASD with a COTS solution to implement new technology that will centralize and reuse data in a "Cloud" environment; give employees a more efficient method of obtaining the information they need to carry out their work; and provide managers more robust planning, reporting and analytical tools to meet the needs of both ASD and their clients.

    This Request for Information (RFI) does not constitute a commitment by the Government of Canada.

    The Government of Canada does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
