INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT DAY NOTICE FOR THE
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IT APPLICATIONS RATIONALIZATION INITIATIVE

In Economic Action Plan 2012, the Government of Canada,
"committed to streamlining, consolidating and standardizing
administrative functions and operations within and across
organizations". A key part of this effort is the plan to
consolidate Financial Management (FM) Information Technology
Applications using an Application Management Service (AMS)
provider that is more cost effective and efficient than current
    Government operations.

On August 16, 2013, Canada will host a half-day information
session in the National Capital Region to present the current
state of its Financial Management Information Technology
Applications with the goal of receiving initial feedback on the
state of industry capabilities to provide AMS for FM IT
Applications. This event will initiate a wider consultation that
will allow industry to suggest and propose AMS approaches for
Financial Management IT Applications within the Government. The
    AMS work under consideration includes:

    ·	Operations
    ·	Application Development

This "Industry Engagement Day" session is open to interested
suppliers and associations from industry. All media inquiries
related to the Financial Management IT Applications
Rationalization Initiative should be directed to the TBS Media
Relations Office at 613-957-2640. The purpose of the session is
to canvass industry perspectives on the scope, procurement
strategy and key requirements for an AMS that will satisfy the
Financial Management IT Applications Rationalization Initiative.
Canada will present information on these topics and elicit
feedback from industry to help shape its strategy going forward.
The details herein are intended to help prepare industry for
    upcoming engagement events.

    INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT

Industry Engagement is the first phase of a process that may
lead to a Request for Information (RFI) if Government is
satisfied that industry can help it achieve its Economic Action
Plan objectives for administrative reform in the Financial
Management IT Application domain. That RFI will be shaped by
the outcomes of this and subsequent one-on-one consultations.
This could culminate in a timely Request for Proposals.
