INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT DAY NOTICE FOR THE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IT APPLICATIONS RATIONALIZATION INITIATIVE In Economic Action Plan 2012, the Government of Canada, "committed to streamlining, consolidating and standardizing administrative functions and operations within and across organizations". A key part of this effort is the plan to consolidate Financial Management (FM) Information Technology Applications using an Application Management Service (AMS) provider that is more cost effective and efficient than current Government operations. On August 16, 2013, Canada will host a half-day information session in the National Capital Region to present the current state of its Financial Management Information Technology Applications with the goal of receiving initial feedback on the state of industry capabilities to provide AMS for FM IT Applications. This event will initiate a wider consultation that will allow industry to suggest and propose AMS approaches for Financial Management IT Applications within the Government. The AMS work under consideration includes: · Operations · Application Development This "Industry Engagement Day" session is open to interested suppliers and associations from industry. All media inquiries related to the Financial Management IT Applications Rationalization Initiative should be directed to the TBS Media Relations Office at 613-957-2640. The purpose of the session is to canvass industry perspectives on the scope, procurement strategy and key requirements for an AMS that will satisfy the Financial Management IT Applications Rationalization Initiative. Canada will present information on these topics and elicit feedback from industry to help shape its strategy going forward. The details herein are intended to help prepare industry for upcoming engagement events. INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT Industry Engagement is the first phase of a process that may lead to a Request for Information (RFI) if Government is satisfied that industry can help it achieve its Economic Action Plan objectives for administrative reform in the Financial Management IT Application domain. That RFI will be shaped by the outcomes of this and subsequent one-on-one consultations. This could culminate in a timely Request for Proposals. IMPORTANT EVENTS AND DATES (These are proposed dates, and are subject to change) Industry Engagement Day - August 16, 2013 One-on-One Industry Sessions - August 19-22, 2013 REGISTRATION FOR INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT DAY AND ONE-ON-ONE MEETINGS Canada invites interested parties to this initiative and any resulting procurement, including any industry associations representing a potentially affected market segment, to the Industry Engagement session and Industry Engagement One-on-One meetings. Information Related to Industry Engagement Day Interested participants must register their representatives by sending an email to FMIT-TIGFComm@tbs-sct.gc.ca no later than 4:00 p.m. EDT on August 15, 2013. Due to space considerations at the Industry Engagement Day presentation room (address provided below), each participant may only register up to two representatives from its company/association. Participants must identify themselves by their legal corporate name, corporate address and email address, and area of expertise, and provide the name(s) of their representative(s) attending. By providing the above information, each respective party acknowledges and consents to the release of this information to the public in any manner determined by Government. Canada will be facilitating a conference call for the Industry Engagement Day. Please note your desire to participate in the conference call in the SUBJECT line of your e-mail to FMIT-TIGFComm@tbs-sct.gc.ca. You will be contacted via e-mail with information for the conference call. Canada will make best efforts to send a background presentation to all participants after the August 15, 2013 registration deadline. Representatives will need to bring identification that includes a picture of themselves (i.e. photo ID, such as a driver's license), when they arrive for sign-in at the Industry Engagement Day presentation room. Logistic Information Date: August 16, 2013 Time: 8:30 - 10:30 am Location: Pinnacle Room Delta Ottawa City Centre 101 Lyon Street, Ottawa, ON Security: Presentations will be unclassified. There are no security barriers (a security pass is not required) to enter the room. Information Related to the One-on-One Meetings Suppliers/associations interested in participating in the Industry Engagement One-on-One meetings should express their interest by email at, FMIT-TIGFComm@tbs-sct.gc.ca. This should also be done no later than 4:00 p.m. EDT August 16, 2013. Applicants should be aware that Canada will publish on https://buyandsell.gc.ca/, the list of suppliers and associations that participated in these one-on-one meetings. Only registrations from participants that had a representative attend the Industry Engagement Day session/conference call will be accepted. Please suggest a time and date between August 19 and 22, 2013 for your session within your e-mail request. Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes. All one-on-one meetings will be held in the National Capital Region in Government facilities. Dates for the One-on-One meetings will be set following the August 16th Industry Engagement Day. They will be scheduled between August 19 -22. Every effort will be made to accommodate specific requests for times and dates. Participants will be allowed to bring up to 5 representatives to the meeting. For convenience a computer that can display Microsoft Office documents (version 2010) and Adobe PDF format files will be provided. For groups that wish to use their own equipment please bring a computer that can be attached to a projector via HDMI or VGA. Canada will provide the display equipment. Locations and times for one-on-one meetings will be provided to the respective participants as part of Canada's confirmation of the date and time for each of the one-on-one meetings. NATIONAL SECURITY EXCEPTION Any procurements which might result from this initiative may be subject to a National Security Exception. Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
