    REQUIREMENT
    To carry out the design, construction, test, trial and delivery
    of two (2) 5.3. - 5.5 M Open boat
    
    Mission Statement: 
    Mission Statement:   	Open boats are used extensively as
    auxiliary craft for the CCG Fleet of Boats, as well as operating
    independently to carry out various program-related activities
    from shore-based facilities and trailers. 
    
    
    1.	The primary mission is as a workboat, including environmental
    response, search and rescue, emergency boat duties. The vessel
    will operate in shallow waters must have the ability to be
    beached on sloping shorelines. 
    
    	The engine must be able to completely trim/tilt out of the
    water & the vessel must be able to operate with the engine in a
    "trimmed-up" attitude.
    
    2.	 The Boats must be as an open boat with an offset console
    (stbd side). The bow is to be U-shaped at top of bulwarks with
    an open deck accessible by side decks around the console
    maximising the forward working area at the bow.
    
     	The Boat will be used to conduct Canadian Coast Guard
    operations.  The boat is required to be capable of operating in
    open water conditions (waves & swells up 1.85 meter) while
    providing a reasonable standard of passenger comfort.  The
    vessel will be trailered locally on paved roads with occasional
    travels on gravel logging roads. It is desirable that this Boat
    has a high-speed capability of at least 32 knots.
    
    Utilization: 
    The crafts must be capable of being ship-borne or shore-based: 
    launched and recovered by stern ramp, davits or other means of
    hoisting such as derricks/cranes utilizing bridle; These craft
    will be primarily ship-based and will be launched and lifted
    aboard ships. They must have the capability to be
    launched/recovered by a trailer or deployed from a shore
    facility dock.
    
    DELIVERY
    Fabrication and delivery of these vessels with trailers to their
    destinations  are requested by June 26, 2014..
    
    PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VESSEL
    Length overall between 5.3 and 5.5 meters being able to carry:
    crew of 2		= 200 kg          Maximum capacity to be minimum 6
    persons
    Fuel 			= Minimum 200 litres in one or two tank(s), (156 kg)
    Equipment & supplies	= 200 kg          
    Payload capacity to be minimum 500 kg, / 1100 lb. in addition to
    full fuel
    
    
    MANDATORY CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS 
    1.	Transport Canada Marine Safety Regulation TP 1332
    "Construction Standards for Small Vessels", which incorporate
    references to ABYC standards for equipment such as fuel tanks
    and fuel systems, as well as tank space ventilation, and ISO
    standards for stability, loading capacity, etc. as delegated to
    ISO 12217-1.
