Description
The University is seeking one integrated, field-installed lysimeter facility comprising six independently weighed, monolithic soil lysimeters and the associated service, sensing, sampling, data-acquisition, control, and commissioning infrastructure. The system will be installed at the Emile A. Lods Agronomy Research Centre on McGill University’s Macdonald Campus and will support year-round research on soil-water and solute fluxes, evapotranspiration, drainage, nutrient and contaminant transport, crop response, and freeze-thaw processes. The lysimeter surfaces must be integrated at the surrounding field grade and managed with the same crops and field practices as adjacent plots to simulate continuous field conditions.
McGill will retain an engineering consultant to design the site civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, network, drainage, and utility infrastructure, and a construction contractor to perform the civil work, install the wells and utilities, unload and place the lysimeter vessels, and complete other assigned site work. The successful bidder must provide complete equipment-interface information, coordinate with these parties, supervise critical specialized activities, install and configure the specialized instrumentation and control systems, and commission the complete research system.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 12 month(s).
