    Description

    Submissions clearly marked "RFP Submission - 200031926 - Delivery of Fluoroscopic and/or Ultrasound Guided Procedure", in the subject line, will be received by the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA), via email at SHABidSubmission@saskhealthauthority.ca, no later than 2:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

    The Saskatchewan Health Authority is seeking proposals for two (2) or more third party partners ("Proponents") to provide support for interventional pain management procedures that require imaging guidance.. The SHA is seeking at least one (1) partner in each of Saskatoon and Regina. The contract will be an initial term of three (3) years and upon expiry of the first term, the SHA will have the option to extend the contract an additional two (2), one (1) year extensions each.

    The provision of these services will assist the SHA in meeting its goal of ensuring that every patient who requires these procedures receives care within sixty (60) days of the request for the procedure being received.

    Third party providers will need to demonstrate that they can provide high quality services that ensure patient safety, and accessibility. Proponents will also need to demonstrate a commitment to cultural safety for all patients and patient families as described in the Request for Proposals ("RFP").

    Unless otherwise indicated, and subject to applicable exceptions and exclusions, this procurement is covered by:

    •Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement

    •Chapter 19 of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement

    •Article 14 of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement

     


    Additional Information


    Specific fluoroscopic and/or ultrasound guided procedures that will be performed include:
    • Ablation of selective axial and peripheral nerves – Pulsed radiofrequency ablation, thermal ablation (radiofrequency, cooled RFA, and cryoablation), or chemical ablation
    • Intradiscal procedures
    • Axial, Epidural, Sympathetic, Paravertebral and Peripheral selective nerve blockade
    • Superficial trigger point, bursa, tendon, large and small joint injection
    • Large joint injection and denervation (e.g. Hip, knee and shoulders)
    • Facial nerves and ganglion blockade (e.g. maxillary, trigeminal and sphenopalatine ganglion)

    Note that conscious sedation will be routinely required for the delivery of services.

    The SHA will assign physicians to perform these procedures at the location, operated by the successful proponent.

    Proponents will be required to provide all other personnel and supplies required for the completion of such procedures including:
    • Medical Radiation Technologist
    •ACLS certified personnel which can be Nurses and or Paramedics – provide support for conscious sedation including with midazolam, fentanyl and/or propofol During sedation procedures an ACLS trained physician must also be on site.
    •Sterile equipment
    •Fluoroscopic equipment suitable for the procedures (C-arm or tableside stationary fluoroscopic camera)
    •Ultrasound equipment
    •Booking and administrative staff to support patient flow.
    •Able to perform up to date medical pain assessment of pain if not performed within 60 days ofrequested procedure

    The SHA may select one (1) or more proponents to offer these services.

    The estimated contract period will be 60 month(s).
